The 2 weeks after we got out of school I worked at my horseback riding barn as a counselor. I spent monday through friday there from 7 to 5 or so. The camp didnt start until 9, but my instructor gave us free lessons before the camp if we helped out, so I was there by 7. It was hard work, and the little kids could get really annoying! It was good practice though, I got really good at tacking horses up and I also got experience in teaching lessons.
Then the next week I went up to Maryland to visit my cousins for a few days and then drove down to Charlottesville, Virginia to visit my awesomest cousin. She's 16 and so we hung out at her house for a couple of days. She lives right near this outdoor mall place tho, so we spent some time there looking in shops and eating lunch with some of her friends. We also went on this really cool and kind of creepy ghost tour of downtown Charlottesville. They did it at night and you walk around with a guide and its really cool. Then that Friday, we went back up to Washington DC to watch a production of the Lion King. It had the most amazing costumes I had ever seen. They were really intimidating and impressive.
Lets see...then that weekend my entire dads side of the family left for what is the best part of every single one of my summers...our family vacation in the Outer Banks (north carolina). My entire family (grandparents, aunts, uncles, kids) go for a week and rent a beach house in Corolla. It was amazing. The weather was beautiful, the water amazing, and since my eldest cousin and movie director (every year we've been making movies as the four of us oldest cousins) wasnt there, we didnt make a movie and so had TONS of time to hang at the pool and beach, watch movies and just chill.
It is the best part of any summer! On the way home, we stopped in Williamsberg at this candy shop for the BEST CANDY IN THE WORLD! They have a huge selection of anything you want and we always stop there to stock up for the ride home.
From there, I went to Boston and spent a week with my friend Stefani. It was r
Then I came home and spent the rest of the summer hanging out at the barn, swimming, and generally both dreading and wishing for the beginning of school. My cousins came to visit me, and we worked on a movie script for next year and just hung out.
I also was a complete loser and went to watch my friend march at band camp. It was oddly entertaining. :-) It was also just cool to see people I hadnt seen all summer.
And thats my rundown of my summer...really fun and kind of busy. :-) Hope I didnt bore you!
